I headed out on the farm as I knew there was a particular bull I wanted to photograph. To my delight, he had been giving himself a dust bath, which I loved as it added another element to it. I knew I wanted this print to be special. When I did the test print, I was so surprised to see how much the dirt resembled gold. I wanted to try something I had never done before and that was to mix another element to my photographic art -  Gold Leaf. Printed on fine art archival paper with gold leaf hand painted on, to create this unique mixed media work.  The print has then been photographed to create 40 limited editions, available on print or canvas.  (Original piece SOLD)

Harakeke ,New Zealand flax, has been woven into this land and its people for centuries. These dried seed heads, found on our Canterbury farm, were shot in dramatic side light that reveals their extraordinary sculptural structure.

Against a deep black ground, the bronze tones glow. The stems rise and branch with an architectural precision that no studio prop could replicate. This is a plant that has weathered a season on the land,  and it shows.

Printed on museum-quality archival paper. Striking at any scale, but genuinely commanding large format.

Fine Art Prints:

This is a fine art photograph printed on superior quality  archival paper. It is 100% cotton rag, acid free and printed with high quality Epson inks. This image will run at a print number of 40

Handle with Care - Please handle your prints with care and avoid overly rubbing or touching the surface. To keep your prints looking great, they must be handled with care and preferably framed or displayed right away. Oils from your fingertips can mark black prints easily. It is recommended for black prints to be opened and framed by a professional. Attempting to open and re roll the print to put back in the tube can damage your print.

This is limited edition print. Once they have sold out, no more will be printed under any circumstance. All limited edition prints will be numbered, named and signed.

Framing

We offer a simple, contemporary moulding designed to complement both modern and classic interiors. Frame colours available include White, Black, and Wood Grain. If you have a specific colour in mind, please feel free to get in touch.

Each frame is handmade and arrives with your artwork professionally mounted, framed, and ready to hang.

For shipped orders, we use high-quality archival acrylic, a premium alternative to glass used widely in homes, galleries, and museums. Acrylic provides excellent clarity while being significantly stronger and lighter than traditional glass, making it the safest option for shipping and long-term display.

Glass framing is available by request for customers able to collect from select framing locations. Please contact us prior to ordering if this is your preference.

White Border Option

You have the option to include a white border around your artwork. This does not increase the overall size of the print. Instead, the image area is slightly reduced to allow space for the border while maintaining the selected print dimensions.

Borders can create a beautiful gallery-style presentation and allow the artwork to breathe within the frame.

Reflection & Glass Options

Due to their deep tonal range, darker and black-and-white prints can show more reflection when framed behind standard glazing.

To minimise reflection, we provide UltraVue® UV70 anti-reflective glass for framed prints up to A0. This premium glass offers exceptional clarity with a virtually invisible surface, allowing the artwork to be viewed without distraction.

For larger sizes, standard archival acrylic is used unless UltraVue® glass is specifically requested and available for collection.

If reflection is a concern, canvas is an excellent alternative, offering a completely non-reflective finish while maintaining exceptional depth and detail.

Canvas Prints

Not all canvas prints are created equal. Each By The Horns canvas is produced using museum-grade archival canvas and fine art inkjet printing to faithfully reproduce every detail and tone of the original photograph.

The canvas is finished with a protective lacquer to guard against moisture, UV exposure, and surface wear.

Each piece is professionally stretched over a solid timber frame and arrives ready to hang.

Canvas provides a beautifully soft, non-reflective finish and is particularly well suited to darker works.

Floating frames are also available, offering a refined, gallery-style presentation.
