2020 will forever be known as the year that changed us all. While I am excited to close the chapter on 2020 and head into 2021, I want to share some of the highlights and lowlights of my year. No matter where in the world you live, the shared experiences of 2020 brought us together, even while we were apart – and I hope my Year in Review will give you a glimpse into some of my special moments

Sinus Operation - I started the year with receiving a much needed Sinus Operation. I had been suffering from ongoing sinus infections for about a year and I forgot what it felt like to feel normal. Thank fully I managed to have this a few weeks before lockdown!

The lockdown - Like everyone else, I was completed shocked as to what was happening around us. And I have to say I was Naïve.

I didn’t think it could happen to New Zealand.

I didn’t believe my family wouldn’t be able to cross the border to visit. I couldn’t believe my printers would be shut down and all orders would have to be put on hold. Timing couldn’t have been worse. I had a major sale before lockdown, so many orders had been placed and now all my customers had to wait for an unknown time to receive their order.

Would everyone want their money back? Would I go broke? Like many others, I found continuing my business at home, trying to keep it afloat  and homeschooling at the same time very challenging.  There were many tears, I have to admit. But I know people were doing it much tougher, (and still are)  and the world was in this together.

While I could go on and on about my time during lock down, I would like to focus on some more positives

Magazine Features - Being featured in magazines is only something I could ever have dreamt about when I was younger. I still have to pinch myself to this day that people want to write about me!
This year I have been so fortunate to be featured in:

NZ Herefords Magazine (March)
Angus NZ magazine. (April issue)
Womens Weekly Magazine - September

Competition Win - I don’t often enter in photo competitions, in fact it is probably something I should do more of. But I saw a competition going for the Angus Journal - US, and decided to enter in a photo of one of our bulls and to my surprise, I was a winner!

New Babies - Every lambing seasons brings orphan lambs. I gained three this year, but I also saved a little orphan calf who soon became named Skippy. Skippy was and still is Tiny and will be my forever pet. Of course she is also a new print!
